In the Fall of 1990, after Tulane graduation, I took a cross-country trip with my Mom to help me relocate to Southern California. It was an unforgettable and priceless journey. Along our drive through Colorado, I was stunned by the Autumn gold trees along Crystal Lake, Coloarado. On the drive, I saw a path of gold trees and had to slam on the brakes and turn around to take a picture. It's one of those photographs that I will take to my grave as one of the earliest memories of creative inspiration in nature. I agree with my Mom, we like to think of it as the official "first photograph" that launched my photography career.
