Seeking new locations around New York City to do fashion and portrait shoots has become a bit of an obsession for me lately. Not content with the standard locales around the city, we try to find spots that have a bit of history and visual pop. So when we photographed Wes & Wyatt (twin boys who look nothing alike) for their rock and roll Mitzvah photo shoot at Jay Maisel's secret bat-cave at 190 Bowery, I was fired up to shoot in such a gritty and colorful spot. Knowing that we got in, made some rockin' pictures, and now it's sold and soon to be renovated makes me both excited and sad since it's such a great spot. Here's a few highlights from these two aspiring rock stars.
You know that you've got two cool cats when the 13 year olds are wearing AC/DC, Van Halen, Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones t-shirts. Rock it boys! What do you think of the locale?
